Der Greifensee ist mit einer Länge von 6 Kilometern und einer maximalen Breite von 1,6 Kilometern der zweitgrösste See im Kanton Zürich. Der Hauptzufluss ist der Aabach (Abfluss aus dem Pfäffikersee). Der Seeabfluss ist die Glatt. Rund 160 km² des Zürcher Oberlandes werden im Greifensee entwässert.

Rund um den See führen schöne Wander- und Radwege. Die ruhige Lage und die Natur ziehen viele Urlauber an.

The Greifensee is with a length of 6 kilometers and a maximum width of 1.6 kilometers, the second largest lake in the canton of Zurich. The main tributary is the Aabach (outflow of the Pfäffikersee). The Lake outflow is the Glatt. About 160 km² of the Zurich Oberland will be dewatered in the Greifensee.
